Personally, if a person has an unpopular viewpoint, that's what disagrees are for, not debubbling. If someone thinks Halo is the best FPS ever, I have to disagree. Strongly and often. But I won't shut them up because of that preference.
But if a user's only function is to knowingly misinform, troll, or otherwise intentionally disrupt or derail a good discussion I'm tempted to hit the big red obelus.
Pretty much spot on. 360 had very little "cool stuff" come out of GDC besides a few DLC, a new dev kit, and upgrades for GFWL. And only one of those applies to gamers. Unless someone out there actually enjoys being forced to use MS's lacklustre Steam clone.
Compare that to the landslide of new games cropping up for the PS3 both before and during GDC and suddenly 360 looks pretty bare atm on the announcement side. We all know 360 is still getting titles, but you can't ke...
PSU (not PSO) is probably more indicative of the type of MMO devs will focus on for consoles. Looking at DC Online, Huxley, and APB it seems as if consoles will receive MMO experiences based more around action than the norm.
I pretty much agree. While maintaining a good library of games, MS did not design a reliable machine. It's got a lot of great features but longevity isn't one of them.
Edit: Agree with the article I mean. Good submission as well. This is what I get for posting under the influence.
I'm partial to Bethesda. Sure, they have bugs but then again they're best known for IMMENSE open-world games. When you think about how much can go wrong in a big project like that, it's actually a little embarrassing for other devs who make more linear games suffering the same amount of bugs (Obsidian's NWN2 springs to mind).
Bungie are cool. I can't say I've loved their games all that much (being somewhat indifferent to FPS), but I admire the support and energy these guys put in...
I regret devs have churned out so many mediocre FPS games as to bring down the entire genre along with it.
"Well, the PC version came out this week."
Worst dodge ever.
"It was an impressive technical accomplishment, but at the same time unquestionably inferior to playing from a disc.
I asked OnLive representatives whether the connection at GDC was indicative of the optimal connection experience, and they replied in the affirmative."
For anyone worried, that right there should eliminate any fear whatsoever that Onlive will invalidate consoles or games natively installed on your PC. What gamer wants to play a game in minimu...
Although, Superman was kind of a d!ck back then.
It's an awfully tempting service, but until we see full-scale field testing it's hard to say just how successfully it can deliver. Definitely keeping my consoles and gaming PC around.
Page did not load for me. :/
"We are continuing to look into the issues people are experiencing with The Pitt for Xbox 360. As of now it looks like the file for the English version on Xbox Live was somehow corrupted. We are currently working with Microsoft to remove the existing file off of Live to prevent any further downloads. Our plan is to replace it with a new file as soon as possible. We hope to have another update for you shortly."
Pretty much figured. Bethesda knows what they're doing on th...
I'm all for PC love. It's my favourite platform. But I don't see the point in bashing console gaming.
And to address the bashing of PCs:
Viper, last I checked, 360 controllers worked great on PCs. Also, while I admit it can be difficult in some instances getting a game to run (I blame much of this on DRM now) it's not quite the hat trick people make it out to be. 9/10 times you just insert, click a few next buttons, and it's done. It's often as easy as installing ga...
Pay to access GFWL? Heck no. That's only on 360. PC gamer don't play that.
Uh, obviously I'm not the expert here. I believe I understand what Sony's trying to do, but are there no other options besides cutting the entire region of South Korea off from PS3 availability?
Agreed. Incredible news. Way to start off with a bang. I'm surprised they actually have it available to test considering I hadn't heard of it till just now!
No noticeable lag? These guys have been busy in a good way.
Can't wait to hear more particulars. I've got some expectations and concerns already.
@FamilyGuy: Hmmm. I only know Tales of Symphonia, FFX, Crisis Core (?), Star Ocean 3...
I thought I was talking to a professional, sorry.
Your remarks aside, I hope you soon interview or can link me to a previous interview where Wiirevolution presents the other side of the coin instead of making accusations. Good day.
N4Gers usually don't read the article either.
No, not just hating on it because it's Gamestop. At least I can speak for myself on that matter. I'm "hating" on it because it truly sounds like an attempt to lionize the corporation and demonize the devs. I already posted my issues with the text earlier @3.2. So I don't think you can claim proper integrity when you're apparently taking sides. That's just my opinion though.
To say nothing of the console itself, I liked the name 'Revolution' a lot more than 'Wii'.
